P
arish Neighborhood Group
Ministry (PNG)
The early Christians, needing both the worship of the
temple and the body life of the church, met in small groups for mutual
support in study and prayer.
Metropolitan’s concept of the Parish Neighborhood
Group Ministry is therefore, biblically based. It is an experience of
the church in depth and in miniature, augmenting and intensifying the
quality of our work and study together as a larger congregation.
We believe that a small group is part of the strategy
of our Lord for the growth of the Church and of its members.
The basic purpose of the Neighborhood Fellowship is
to extend the centralized church into the local area and to
authentically become the "church in miniature." More
specifically, the Neighborhood Fellowship is a vehicle to develop,
nurture and intensify relationships of its members to one another and to
Jesus Christ, and to provide a avenue for reaching out to the many local
neighborhoods in which our members reside.
Such purposes can be accomplished through Bible
Study, prayer, fellowship, worship and mutual sharing of successes,
failures, the joys and the problems of life as well as combining our
efforts and reaching out to the unchurched.
