    Nursery and Toddlers

Open at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday, the nursery and toddler areas are staffed by a team of rotating volunteers. Care is exercised to keep sanitary conditions for children: diaper changing area sanitized after each diaper change; toys cleaned regularly; clean sheets and blankets used in the sleeping area.

Children have the opportunity to play with others and learn in a loving environment. Children are called by name and made to feel comfortable. Music and books that reflect God’s love are used to enhance the child’s worship time. Snacks and juice are provided for the children.

    Nursery

A program is planned for newborns through age 2 where children are given tender care and nurture by a dedicated staff of teachers and parents. Second floor, room 208.

    Kindergarten
    (4 and 5 year-olds)

Coordinated by Mr. Wesley Parker, the kindergarten class is very active in mission projects for the church and throughout the community. The children hear Bible stories, learn songs, make crafts, send cards and letters to persons who are home-bound, ill or in need.

The children participate in the "Word for the Children" during the worship hour at which time they are invited to the Chancel rail to have a special lesson led by Lisa Forzley or designated lay participants. At the end of this special time, the children return to their classroom for additional learning, nurture, guided play and fun. Second floor, room 210.

    Elementary Children

Elementary children attend Sunday School at 10am each Sunday and then go to worship with their parents at 10:50. They are included in the "Word for the Children," and remain in the worship service until they are excused to go to the third floor Gathering Room for "Worship in the Arts."

    First Grade

Taught by Sammye VanDiver, children entering the first grade receive "The New Adventure Bible," filled with quizzes, a "Did you Know?" section, dictionary, time lines, a "Words to Remember" section, book introductions, indexes and activities. Bible lessons, Scripture memory, games, puzzles and other enrichment activities are all a part of the first grade curriculum. Third floor, 310.

    Second and Third Grades

Mrs. Mary Grimes teaches the second and third grades. Here they continue on their journey into faith, by exploring the meaning of Scripture and how to apply what the Gospel says to their every day lives. Third floor, room 310.

    Fourth and Fifth Grades

Kathy Forzley and Caryn Milobar teach the fourth and fifth graders through special crafts, journal writing, Bible application, mission projects, Bible games and puzzles which enrich the curriculum and faith journeys. Third floor, room 314.
