Choral Ensembles

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir sings weekly at Metropolitan United Methodist Church, special services in Lent and Advent, and occasional festivals and concerts. Its diverse membership ranges from trained singers, instrumental musicians to church members of all ages with little or no formal musical training or experience. Weekly rehearsals are held each Thursday night from 7:00 to 8:30pm in the choir room.
 

Women's Ensemble

This ensemble sings once a month for worship and at special church services and joins other ensembles for seasonal church events. Weekly rehearsals are held each Thursday night from 6:00 to 6:50pm in the choir room.
 

Metropolitan Singers

The Metropolitan Singers program is developed to give student singers in the greater Detroit area a leadership role in Worship services through presenting the finest in sacred choral music. The focus of the Metropolitan Singers is to lead choral sections of the Chancel Choir, study and perform music from various eras and cultural traditions, in an historic worship setting and community committed to excellence in sacred music. Weekly rehearsals are held each Thursday night from 8:30 to 9:30pm in the choir room.
