Dr. William K. Quick
Pastor Emeritus
wkquick@aol.comDr. Quick was appointed Senior Pastor by Bishop Dwight Loder on May 5, 1974 and served until his retirement July 1, 1998. His senior pastorate of a quarter century is surpassed only by Dr. Rice who served 30 years. He was named Pastor Emeritus by the Administrative Board on his 65th birthday, May 20, 1998.
Currently he is beginning his tenth year as Visiting Professor at Duke University Divinity School in Durham, N.C. and teaches in the Winter-Spring semester and during the summer Course of Study. In January 2008, Dr. Quick also teaches the weekend Course of Study on Leadership and Administration. His wife, Mary, is a retired Diaconal Minister in the Detroit Conference and served as Metropolitan's Director of Music from 1984-1996. Mary serves as Editor of the monthly Metropolitan MESSENGER and will receive articles by the 10th of each month for publication the following month at: marylevack@aol.com.
